All events recorded in the TaNaKh are physical models of spiritual events due to occur in the closing days of this age. In other words, these events were especially staged and recorded to inform believers of what to expect in the days just prior to the return of the Messiah.
Paul draws attention to the purpose of these dramatized prophecies.
1CO 10:6 Now these things are our examples, to keep us from setting our hearts on evil just as they did.
1CO 10:11 All these things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come. So, for the one thinking he is standing firm, be watchful, that you do not fall!
The Greek word translated 'examples' is tupos (#5179). It means: a figure, pattern, an example to be imitated -- a person or thing prefiguring a future person or thing.
So when you read a Torah story, remember this fact - that all the events recorded in His Word are 'examples' which were staged by God and recorded in the Torah for our warning, on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come.
