Keeping Shabat is a sign of obedience...

HEB 4:8 For if Yhowshua` had given them rest, 'Elohiym would not have spoken later about another day. There remains, then, a Shabat for the people of 'Elohiym; for anyone who enters the rest of 'Elohiym also rests from his own work, just as 'Elohiym did from His. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience.

Their example of disobedience --

EZE 20:13 Yet the people of Yisra'el rebelled against Me in the desert. They did not follow My decrees but rejected My judgments--although the man who obeys them will live by them--and they utterly desecrated My Shabtowt. So I said I would pour out My wrath on them and destroy them in the desert... because they rejected My judgments and did not follow My decrees and desecrated My Shabtowt... Keep My Shabtowt set apart, that they will be a sign between us...But the children rebelled against Me: They did not follow My decrees, they were not careful to keep My judgments--although the man who obeys them will live by them--and desecrated My Shabtowt....because they had not obeyed My judgments but had rejected My decrees and desecrated My Shabtowt, and their eyes lusted after their fathers' idols.
