Same sex marriage is becoming popular in American society, as morality slackens. All believers understand where this is originating.

Don't you remember that when with you I used to tell you these things? And now you know who is holding him back, that he may be revealed in his time. They perish because they refused to accept the truth and so be saved. For this reason 'Elohiym sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie, so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in chatta'ah.
It is delusional thinking to believe God will look the other way at same-sex unions.
