We are commanded to preach sound doctrine. The world is perishing because of a lack of sound doctrine -- those Divine principles which teach us how to regulate our behavior. The popular xtian churches have departed from the teachings of the Torah and are now wallowing in the unclean teachings of men and shediym. Because of this, chatta'ah in its myriad forms is smothering the life out of billions of souls! Believers dare not remain silent; even if it means upsetting some.
Yeshuwah taught sound doctrine
They went to Kaphar-Nachuwm, and when Shabat came, Yeshuwah went into the synagogue and began to teach. The people were amazed at His teaching, because He taught them as one who had authority, not as the rabbis of the Torah.
As He taught, Yeshuwah said, "Watch out for the rabbis of the Torah. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted in the marketplaces, and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. They devour widows' houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. Such men will be punished most severely."
The shlachiym taught sound doctrine
Having brought the shlachiym, they made them appear before the Sunedrion to be questioned by Kohen haGadowl. "We gave you strict orders not to teach in this Name," he said. "Yet you have filled Yerushalayim with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this Man's blood."
Immediately mist and darkness came over him, and he groped about, seeking someone to lead him by the hand. When the proconsul saw what had happened, he believed, for he was amazed at the teaching about YHWH.
They said this because Paul was preaching the Gospel about Yeshuwah and the resurrection. Then they took him and brought him to a meeting of the Areopagus, where they said to him, "May we know what this new teaching is that you are presenting? You are bringing some strange ideas to our ears, and we want to know what they mean."
Scriptural advice concerning doctrine
As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain men not to teach false doctrines any longer, nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies.
If you point these things out to the brothers, you will be a good minister of Yeshuwah haMashiyach, nourished on the truths of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have followed. Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourselves to be pious.
Command and teach these things. Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in 'emuwnah and in purity. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of the Torah, to preaching and to teaching. Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through a prophetic message when the body of zaqeniym laid their hands on you.
Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will heal both yourself and your hearers.
The zaqeniym, who direct the affairs of the Qahal well, are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching. For the Torah says, "Do not muzzle the ox while it is treading out the grain," and "The worker deserves his wages." Do not entertain an accusation against a zaqen unless it is brought by two or three witnesses. Those who commit chata' are to be rebuked publicly, so that the others may take warning.
All who are under the yoke of slavery should consider their masters worthy of full respect, so that the Name of 'Elohiym and our teaching will not be slandered.
The whole Torah is breathed of 'Elohiym and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in tsdaqah, so that the man of ha'Elohiym will be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.
You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine. Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in 'emuwnah, in checed and in endurance.
Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of the Messiah does not have 'Elohiym; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him. Anyone who welcomes him shares in his risha`.
Nevertheless, I have a few things against you: You have people there who hold to the teaching of Bil`am, who taught Balaq to entice the children of Yisra'el to chatta'ah by eating food sacrificed to idols and by committing sexual sin. Likewise you also have those who hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans. Repent therefore! Otherwise, I will soon come to you and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth.
In the Presence of 'Elohiym and of Yeshuwah haMashiyach, who will judge the chayiym and the muwtiym, and in view of His appearing and His Mamlahkah, I give you this charge: Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to teach what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from ha'Emeth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.
Sound doctrine is a set of moral principles which comes from 'Elohiym. It forms the basis of His character, His will and His Torah.
Yeshuwah haMashiyach always taught sound doctrine; which He received from His Father. He never introduced a single doctrine of His own: but always magnified His Father's mitsvowt in order that mankind would appreciate their meaning.
Sad to say the xtian churches set aside the doctrines of 'Elohiym and adopted in their place the 'teachings of men' (Sunday observance, xmas, easter, ash Wednesday, relic/idol worship, celibacy of the priesthood etc.).
Teaching and living by the 'teachings of men' results in vain, futile and worthless service. People may delude themselves and each other; but we cannot delude 'Elohiym. The Messiah's warning was: 'Every plant that My Father in Shamayim has not planted will be pulled up by the roots.' This applies to all false doctrine, be it of men or mal'akiym.
The Torah admonishes us to live by sound doctrine/teaching -- the principles of 'Elohiym.
If you really wish to understand the will of 'Elohiym you must repent -- begin to obey His mitsvowt, which are simply the Divine definitions of His own principles.
You may have had some extremely exciting experiences. I'll not doubt them. But if you are relying on personal experiences instead of the Torah, then you are in for a big surprise on the soon-coming Day of Judgment.
